Our Little Adventures 2013 - A Walk in Labrador Park Part 1 (24 May)

It's always difficult to plan what to do for a long weekend and school holiday. The 2 elder kids will always ask "Mummy, this week, there's a public holiday. We have no school so what are we going to do and where are we going?"

Both my hubby and I are busy with our work. During weekdays (after work), we don't get a lot of rest, pretty because the kids will be around. One will need coaching for his homework, the other wants someone to play with him and the baby needs to sleep. And on Saturday, Isaac has swimming lessons at 8.30 am and English lessons at 10 am in school. On Sunday, Imax has chinese lessons at 12 pm and Isaac has chinese lessons at 2.15 pm. We never really have a proper rest on weekends. Sigh!!!

Vesak day holiday - what should we be doing? Weather hasn't been good for the past few days. Well, we don't really like shopping so we decided to go to Labrador Park to explore. A picnic in the park would be good. I woke up at 6 am that day to prepare the sandwiches and titbits. I also packed the children's bag with raincoats, mosquito patches, sun-glasses and caps. Targetted to leave the house by 8 am after bathing all of them. Oops! Baby Ivory is hungry so I gonna feed her. By the time we left our house, it's almost 8.30 am.

Halfway through our journey, it started to rain heavily. We hope that the rain will stop soon. The children were excited about this trip to Labrador Park because I told them the history about this park and we might get to see monitor lizards if we were lucky. Yakss!!

The pictures below show some of the historical landmark in the park. Our historical journey begins...........

Red Beacon

Dragon Teeth's Gate

The baby pram and children were all geared up with "rain-cover" and raincoats. Both my hubby and I carried the umbrellas as we walked. The kids loves to walk in the rain. As the rain got heavier, we took shelter at the Berlayer Shade.  We had a little picnic there.

After the rain became lighter, we continued our walk in the park towards Reflections at Keppel Bay. Along the way, we saw a mini sting-ray swimming in the water and other fishes.

This marks the end of our outing. We ate lunch at Seah Im bus terminal and shop at Vivo-city mall for a while before heading back to Labrador Park via the train.
