My Family

Looking back to the past...I came from a family of 3, daddy, mummy and me. I remembered growing up as a lonely child. I was frustrated when I returned home to an empty house.

I told myself when I have a family, I want to have 2 kids. So that the kids have a companion. Wow,  now I have 3 kids. Two lovely boys and a sweet little girl.

I'm glad that I started family early. At least, I have the energy to chase after them...playing wrestling with Imax and catching up with Isaac.

Let's walk the the memory lane.

Issac was born in 2006.

 

Imax was born in 2008.

We had our family photos taken in 2009 because we did not expect to have a 3rd child.

Ivory's arrival was a surprise and special gift. Ivory was born in 2012.

Looking back at these photos...I can say time flies. Children grow up so fast. I remembered this time of last year, I was still doing my confinement. Now, Ivory is 1 year old, has 2 teeth and is learning how to walk. She understands certain words like "sayang", "pat pat", "good girl", "naughty girl", "aeroplane", "MRT", "拍拍手", "擦肚子", "妈妈回来了", "爸爸", "公公", "婆婆". And her first word is "pa pa pa pa pa". Sigh!!, All my 3 childrens' first word is "pa pa pa pa pa". Maybe papa is easier to call than mama. Anyway, Ivory's our darling little girl. She loves to eat baby biscuits. She likes toys, music, books, attention & affection. And she's curious about a lot of things.

 

Imax is a funny boy. He never fails to make us laugh with his jokes. He's stubborn at times. We have to slowly talk to him. He likes attention too. We all know his love for food so we usually kept some fruits, snacks, chocolates and candies. And he still has one bad habit - bed-wetting ocassionally. Lol~ He's my funny little boy who loves affection.

 

Isaac is the eldest so we expect a lot from him. We hope that he can set up a good example for his younger siblings. We didn't have much time to teach him since both Xieyi and I were busy with work and the youngest one, so he's pretty much on his own in primary one. Luckily, his results are ok. We are relieved.

My princess's 1st birthday party (12 Oct 2013)

12 Oct 2013 is Princess Ivory's 1 year old birthday bash. I woke up at 6 a.m as I predicted there would be a whole lot of things to prepare. Her birthday party starts at 2 p.m. The 2 elder kids were excited. They had been counting down to her birthday for days.

We made decision to hold Ivory’s 1st birthday party at Kids Amaze Indoor Playground @ Safra Toa Payoh. We chose this place because the playground is fun. We booked the 2-5 p.m. party time slot. We were told the guests were all entitled to unlimited play time at the playground for the day, so they were free to go anytime during the day to let their kids play there, but the party room will only be available during the party time slot.

We ordered some D.I.Y. popiahs, chicken wings, soon kueh and sotong balls from Qi Ji Catering.  I also bought some glutinous rice. I prepared some red eggs, fruit salad, snacks like crackers, chocolates and candies for the kids too. We ordered the birthday cake from Pine Gardens and the balloons from Miniiworld. I had also hired a photographer (Yongsak Photography) to take the pictures as I had foreseen we will be very busy. In addition, I also prepared personalised goodie bags for the kids.

We arrived at the playground at 1.20 p.m. I started arranging the tables. Food and balloons arrived at 1.50 p.m. My 2 elder kids had already ran away to play at the playground. Luckily, my cousin, Guohao was there to help me. Xieyi had gone to fetch my parents, Ivory and picked up the birthday cake.

By 2 p.m., my guests had started to arrive. I was still decorating the room with Ivory's baby photos. She was born pre-matured and I remembered worrying for her health. Now, when I see her, she is a healthy, bubbly and happy toddler :)

 

 



 

Pictures say a thousand words. You can see from the photos that the guests, especially the children enjoyed themselves.

 

 

 

 

Everyone's having a good and fun time. The children were playing at the Playground,- climbling the obstacles and playing the slides. Ivory went to the playground for babies and toddlers. She had her own fun there too.

 

 

Most of the guests had arrived. The cake cutting ceremony was going to begin. This is the picture of the 2-tier birthday cake from Pine Garden.

 

 

Kloe was looking at the details of the cake.

 

 

Greedy Imax was caught on camera trying to steal a bite on the cake. I know he had been eyeing on Ivory's cake for a long time.

 

We gathered the family members and friends for some group photos with the birthday girl.

We wanted to let Ivory blow the candle but Imax helped her. I think he forgot that it was Ivory's birthday and not his.

 

 

Ivory's going to cut the cake to symbolise she's one year old. As usual, the helpful kor kor wanted to cut the cake for her. LOL~

 

Time to serve the cake. The top tier is the famous lychee martini cake and the bottom tier is the triple layer chocolate. The adults will be served the top tier liquor cake and the kids will be served the bottom tier chocolate cake. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some guests had to leave and we have a photo with them together. Thank you for coming to Ivory's birthday party bash and also thank you for all the lovely presents and ang pows.

 

Some guests arrived late.

 

Time for some games. I had planned for 2 games. The 1st game was to separate a packet of barley, red bean and lotus nuts into individual bowl. The team who finished first will win some prizes. The 2nd game was to guess the correct numbers of candies in the container. The team with the closest number guessed will win some prizes. Consolation prizes will be given to teams who did not win. So every child will bring a prize home. And everyone will be happy.

A happy happy day for everyone. The party ended at 5 p.m. Isaac and Imax played with Jun-ning and Jun-en untill 6 p.m. Ivory played at the baby and toddler playground. A very tiring day for the parents but worth it. This is because everyone were happy.
